evaluation question 4

evaluation question 3

Our film genre is action. That revolves around gangs, prisons, chase ect. This is all based in London with English characters so it would be preferable if our production company was British to show and produce our film. Looking through company’s ‘working title’ company would be a good suitable company for us as it is what they are looking for as we both are wanting the same audience. This company works with horror, action, drama teen and romance.
Movies produced by ‘working tittle’ include: hot fuzz, green zone, Johnny English and robin, these are some that is in the same genre as ours, action. Green zone is very similar t our movie as we both include gangs and revenge and chase. Where one person has left a gang and is now in a troubled situation.

ONLY WATCH 2.20 MINS OF IT

*Firstly we are shown the production trade mark which is
Metro Goldwyn Mayer. That is used the same with all their
films.
*Looking at the opening, the main character's identity is
kept a secret having the audience guessing.
*The music fits in with the video and starts on time with
the video. Which is (perfect day)
*The music and the credits gives the audience clues what
type of genre the film is like the titles and credits are
bright pink.we can understand The genre is rom com. The
gender is aimed at girls.
*from the start the director is giving the audience clues to
who this mysterious person/ main character could be. This is
done by using an envelope.
* We are then shown a parallel scene between the girl
combing her hair and another girl riding a bike.
* Focusing on the girl riding the bike, the camera is
panning her throughout the bike ride, and we are shown a
point of view shot a few times that is used effectively.
*Focusing on the main character, each shot is a close up
indicating to us that she is the main character as her
identity is hidden
* The director very cleverly shows us that the envelope
belongs to the hidden character because on her table her
name is written, and so the audience should know that the
main characters name is Elle.
* The camera is then tracking the sub-character holding the
envelope
*We are then shown the banner saying 'homecoming queen' and
now audience will gather an understanding.
* The shot i liked was a bird-eye view of the the person
holding the envelope.

evaluation question 7

Since my preliminary task, I have learnt a lot within using the camera and editing. With the first project we didn’t put too much effort with planning and when it came to shooting we had a lot of problems, but for project two we learnt from our mistakes and took 2 weeks on just planning then dedicating a day to find places to shoot, so we did plan in detail and when it came to shooting we followed the shots from our storyboard that were our basic shots and every other shot was creative we done on the spot. We took a few days to look for suitable characters for our film, and prepared them what to wear and say and act.
Editing project one was a first time experience for the whole group as we never used an imac before and weren’t comfortable with imovie, but using the tutorials under help button and the teachers assistance we got the hang of it after a couple of days. For project two we used more new software that was better and that went into detail with editing, so we never used the same software for project one, this made editing better for project two. We also got feedback from students watching project two and we had time to fix up our film before deadline; we never had this opportunity for project one. We also had a lot more time with project two.
For project one I was in a group that we were un organised and we all put little effort in, where as my new group who we worked for project two, we worked extremely well together and got on really well, with no arguments and worked as a team and all put great effort in towards the film.

evaluation one

Q1a) Our Genre is action. Examples like Casino Royal inspired us to base our storyline around action. Before deciding the genre, we looked at the characters we will be using and based our genre arounf them. Our film makes the genre, for example, the fast pace music represents ur genre showing that it is action. The two characters we have suit the genre and fast paced music. The most important event is running our genre represents that.
Q1b) Structure – through research we found that movies can either start from the beginning or half way through the movie or at the end leaving a flashback, explaining the storyline. In our case, we found starting in the middle is more interesting. On purpose, we left a cliff-hanger, so we thought to start the opening from the middle of the story and ending with a flashback. We never thought of putting disruption into the sequence but when we left the cliff-hanger, we thought that we should keep the audience guessing what happened and so we placed the gunshot. We didn’t want to carry on the classic pattern which was that it starts happy, then a problem, then problem solved. So we changed the way our story goes.
Q1c) we aimed to keep the sequence to real time so that it makes sense when watching. The sequence was very tense and so we thought to break the tension with a parallel techniques. This is the lift scene; our feedback said that it broke the tension well. We also used cross cutting to apply the same affect.
